Apply to Demo at Exploring Future Reality, NYC Media Lab's annual XR event (#ExFR18)

Thursday, November 29th at NYU Kimmel Center

Timeline: Arrival/Setup at 10AM, Doors Open at 1PM, Close at 6PM

NYC Media Lab will partner with university labs, media and technology executives, and startups from the CIty’s innovation ecosystem to bring 30 demos to Exploring Future Reality. Demo participants will receive complimentary admission to the event, which will host relevant discussions and ample networking opportunities.

What NYC Media Lab is looking for:

  • Interactive/working/completed prototypes

  • Startup concepts/pitch decks

  • Prototyping concepts, design frameworks, or parts of larger prototyping concepts

Types of emerging media technologies relevant to Exploring Future Reality:

Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, The intersection of XR + artificial intelligence, Brain-Computer Interfaces, UX Design for XR innovation, Voice and Vision Technologies, and startups working in these areas.

Audience: Exploring Future Reality hosts 600+ attendees invested in immersive media technologies. The audience includes faculty and students, executives, entrepreneurs and investors. At the Demo Expo, the audience will float in and out, with heavy periods between 1-3PM and 4-6PM.

Lead a Workshop at Exploring Future Reality, NYC Media Lab's annual XR event (#ExFR18)

Logistics: Workshops will be held from 1PM-4:30PM. Each workshop will last 1-hour.

Possible formats for workshops:

  • Hands-on exploration, such as rapid prototyping

  • Deep dives into tools and applications, such as tutorials

  • Design thinking and XR for business and team development across industries

  • Best practices and discussions on your work and experiences

Duration: Exploring Future Reality workshops will last 1 hour.
