Open Call: A+E Networks Mobile AR Prototyping Fellowship, focused on 1968

In collaboration with NYC Media Lab, HISTORY, part of A+E Networks, seeks to support NYC-based graduate students in a fellowship program that will run in early 2018. Its focus is to use mobile AR platforms—ARKit for Apple and ARCore for Android—to explore 1968, the year that changed America.

The editorial and product teams at A+E Networks are experimenting with AR as a storytelling medium that impacts one's ability to learn and engage with history. The network believes that immersive media can tell stories in new ways, and that its transportive qualities open up new possibilities for those interested in historical subjects. The focus on 1968 reflects upcoming HISTORY programing—including video, web features, interviews, social content and podcasts—as the groundbreaking year celebrates its 50th anniversary

Graduate students at NYC-based universities can now apply for the fellowship. Selected participants have the opportunity to be included alongside the content efforts of the HISTORY editorial team. Learn more about the program and apply at the link below.

The deadline to apply is Sunday, December 10 at 5:00pm EST.
