NYC Media Lab - Job Opportunity - Project Manager

NYC Media Lab is seeking Project Manager to support NYC Media Lab’s corporate membership projects that connects corporations with university faculty and students through semester-long R&D and prototyping projects. This may include helping launch a nationwide education technology and innovation program with a Fortune 20 company.

 Responsibilities will include:

●      Project Management & Implementation (75%):

  • Support all aspects of project and partnership management, including creating meeting agendas, managing timelines of deliverables, and taking meeting notes

  • Coordinate project logistics across multiple stakeholders and partners

  • Implement outreach and communication strategies for relevant projects

  • Scheduling info sessions and road shows, including coordinating with contacts to confirm dates, logistics and outreach to targeted audiences for relevant projects

  • Keep track of all communications and outreach to build out community contacts

  • Capture metrics around outreach efforts

●      Research & Planning (25%):

  • Identify and develop a list of media and tech companies, community and affinity groups related to 5G, edge computing and corporate tech and innovation broadly

  • Conduct research on emerging technology areas and market trends as needed

●      Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong project management experience and client relationship management skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail, including the logistics, operations and day-to-day needs of project management for multi-stakeholder projects under tight deadlines

  • Experience developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies to engage a targeted and also wide array of audiences

  • Interest and familiarity with NYC Media Lab programs and events, and

  • Interest in the education technology ecosystem

  • Capability of working within a small team. An affinity for empathy and a strong EQ (emotional intelligence), and a “No job is too small to get done” attitude

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience strongly preferred

 Time commitment is approximately 20 hours per week for at least 5 months. Payment will be commensurate with experience.
